Recognized both locally and nationally for academic excellence, the Family Medicine Residency Program sponsored by St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) is seeking a Medical Director for their clinic located on the hospital campus in Phoenix. This physician will be responsible for the comprehensive oversight for the division, notably including all faculty academic, educational and clinical activities. He/she will promote collaboration throughout SJHMC, provide a foundation for fostering, managing and supporting protocols in the system, and partner with senior leadership to promote a culture of excellence in patient care, education and research. The ideal candidate will have skills in development of policies and procedures and demonstrated leadership attributes with quality improvement, continuity of care and academic initiatives.
Our program includes 30 Family Medicine residents and has recently expanded to a 10-10-10 status commencing academic year 2011-12. The program also sponsors a fully ACGME-accredited fellowship in Sports Medicine in association with Arizona State University. The program has maintained a 5-year ACGME-accreditation twice in the last 10 years and has fully matched in the NRMP program with its top-ranked candidates. In addition to the Residency Training Program, we are a major teaching affiliate for the University of Arizona College of Medicine and also Creighton University School of Medicine.
