Desert Net: Arizona Family and Community Medicine Research Network
Through a grant from St Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, the Arizona Family and Community Medicine Research Network—affectionately known as Desert Net—was established in late 2008. It’s an opportunity for those involved in family and community medicine, but not necessarily in academia or research settings, to get together and engage in small research projects. Desert Net participants are still discussing possible research endeavors.

DesertNet Update April 2010
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table at the recent ACE conference in Scottsdale! As a reminder, DesertNet is a primary care practice-based research network (PBRN). PBRNs provide opportunities for collaborative research among primary care providers that will improve patient health and quality improvement in health care delivery. DesertNet is registered with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality PBRN Network. We have recently launched a study addressing the management of chronic pain, and we will soon launch another study addressing advance directives in primary care. For more information about DesertNet, or to register as a member, please contact Sharry Veres, MD, or Gale Kittle, RN, MPH by phone at (602) 406-4792, or by email, firstname.lastname@example.org. There is no charge for membership, and you can participate as much or as little as you like.
The KySSSM Child and Adolescent Mental Health Fellowship Program is an online, self-paced continuing education (CE) program that provides a unique opportunity to increase knowledge and skills in the areas of screening, assessment and evidence-based management of mental health disorders in children and teens. It differs from other CE programs by providing clinical skills building activities guided by a faculty mentor with expertise in child and adolescent mental health.
