AAFP National Conference for Residents and Medical Students
Once a year, family medicine leaders and educators come from across the nation to share their knowledge with family medicine residents and medical students. Mark your calendars to attend the national high-energy event, July 29-31.
AzAFP Residents Practice Conference
Every year, the AzAFP hosts a Resident Practice Conference (RPC) for third-year family medicine residents. Our goal is to provide family medicine residents with an opening to explore the many opportunities that await them after residency. Also, it is our hope that the information provided in these brief sessions will alert the attendees to some of the important issues to be considered as they begin their careers. Presentation topics include information on medical liability insurance, contract negotiations, loan repayment and forgiveness, E.H.R. and basic technology start-up, medical home model of care, health care reform, enhancing your CV and personal statement, etc. Also, we have a panel of physicians on the topic of “After Residency, What Are My Options?” We usually include topics such as rural practice, solo practice, group practice, military medicine, Indian Health Services, academia, hospitalist, and much more!
The 2010 RPC date is TBA–Stayed tuned!
AzAFP Emerging Leaders Conference- Day at the Capitol
The Emerging Leaders Conference provides a unique forum to address issues that have a impact on Family Medicine, encourages members to become more involved in leadership roles of the association, and develops and enhances personal leadership skills. Every year, medical students and residents are hand-selected by thier program direcotrs to attend this conference and are personally invited by the AzAFP. They attend an evening reception to kick-off the conference and it prepares them for legislator visits at the AZ State Capitol the following day.
